Namecheap Hosts "Back to School" Riddles Trivia Contest

New York, NY (Vocus) September 1, 2010

Namecheap, a leading domain name registrar and web hosting provider, will be hosting its first ever "Bored at Work and Back to School Riddle Me This Contest" on Twitter, featuring more than $ 10,000 in prizes that include domain name or web hosting credits and grand prizes of three MacBook Pros, a 16GB WiFi iPad, and the all new Amazon Kindle. The contest is scheduled to begin on September 3rd and will run through September 9th.

"With school around the corner and summer vacation waning, we're super excited about this contest to show our customers that going back to school or work can still be so much fun," says Richard Kirkendall, CEO of Namecheap. "Plus, we love building up a strong community around the Namecheap brand, and we've found that our contests bring our valued customers together and gives us the opportunity to give back to our customers. On behalf of all of Namecheap, I'd like to say thank you."

During the course of the "Bored at Work and Back to School Riddle Me This Contest," riddles will be asked every hour for a full week beginning on September 3rd at 12AM EDT via the @Namecheap account on Twitter. For example, a riddle may be in the form of "I always thirst, yet never hunger. I wear a hat in the summer heat, but when the cold winds blow, my head is bare. What am I?" The answer is "a tree."

For every riddle asked, up to five individuals who have given correct answers will each receive $ 10.16 domain name credits with Namecheap to be applied to the purchase of any domain name, WhoisGuard domain privacy protection, or web hosting. The top winner over the course of the competition to have accrued the highest number of correct answers will receive a MacBook Pro. Two additional winners in the top 15 will be selected for the remaining two MacBook Pros. Two other winners in the top 25 will each be selected for the iPad and Amazon Kindle.
